How do you teach Your Children to LOVE learning?

La Mama y los Pollitos...

Aren't we just like a mother hen with our little chicks following behind when we go to the store, library, or for a walk?  Even in central America a family with six children is not very common. Many times I am asked, "Are they all yours?"  Just as we teach our little pollitos (chicks) to follow our lead, we need to teach them the love of learning!

"How do I do that?", you may be asking.

Teaching children to LOVE learning is teaching them to ENJOY what they are learning!

There are many way to bring enjoyment to learning.  The most important though, is that you, la mama, enjoy it too!

You've heard the saying, "If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy"!  So true.

Have you heard the song Los Pollitos Dicen?

It is a popular children's song in Latin America that even my American children love!

My children are learning and becoming fluent in Spanish.
They love music! (so do I:)
What better way than through music to learn new Spanish words?

They liked it so much I made a Reader's Theater version for them to use in our community Reader's Theater program!  You can view it here if you would like.

What would you like to teach your children?  Does your family like music?

This is just one example of how I teach my children to love learning:)

So what are you waiting for?  Find something you want to do, learn, experience and start doing it with your little pollitos!  Think about what inspires you!   They will see you enjoying it and want to do it to!

Then after you've enjoyed yourself a bit, find out what inspires and brings enjoyment to your pollitos.   Then teach them through their interests.  If you need some inspiration your welcome to go through my Pinterest boards and pin some new ideas!

I can't wait to hear what you do to teach your pollitos to enjoy learning!
